By accessing or using Dossier ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Dossier is a platform that transforms GitHub profiles into professional portfolios. The Service allows users to:

• Create and customize professional developer portfolios
• Display GitHub activity, repositories, and contributions
• Browse and apply to job listings
• Post job opportunities (paid feature)
• Connect with other developers and recruiters

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must authenticate using your GitHub account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your GitHub account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Ensuring your profile information is accurate and not misleading

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications to other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Scrape or collect user data without permission
• Post discriminatory or offensive job listings

5. Job Postings

If you post job listings on Dossier:

• You represent that you are authorized to post on behalf of the company
• Job listings must be for legitimate, legal employment opportunities
• Listings must not discriminate based on protected characteristics
• Payment is required and is non-refundable once the listing is published
• Listings are active for 30 days from the date of publication

6. Payments and Refunds

Job posting fees are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Payments are generally non-refundable, except in cases of technical errors or at our sole discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create. By posting content on Dossier, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute your content as part of the Service. The Dossier name, logo, and Service design are our intellectual property.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services including GitHub, Stripe, and others. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or conduct.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR JOB LISTING ACCURACY OR EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Service.
